Rent a kayak or bring your own to enjoy a day out on the water in Sleeping Bear Dunes. Our favorite kayaking rivers are the Lower Platte River, Upper Platte River, and Crystal River. The Lower Platte River is a 2 hour trip at the most. It’s an easy family friendly paddle that begins near M-22 at Lake Michigan Road and goes through Loon Lake. In the Sleeping Bear Dunes, there are two rivers. Both the Platte and the Crystal River offer excellent fishing, tubing, and tubing, though their navigability depends heavily on the season and the rainfall. Shalda and Otter Creeks offer excellent fishing, as well as prime opportunities to see beaver, muskrats, and other wildlife. While the decor in each suite is unique, all have a sitting area with a fireplace and flat panel television, two person Maax Calla combined Hydromax and AeroFeel tub adjacent to another flat panel television, and king size beds. Shopping, dining, entertainment and some recreation adjacent, ½ mile walk, drive or shuttle ride to beach.
