I own a 28 gauge 585 (as well as a 12 gauge 785). Japanese SKBs are nice guns and the x85 series are some of the later ones produced in Japan, with the most modern features. They're well built and will withstand a lot of use. THey're a great value.

A family member is the original owner of a 1968 Ithaca/SKB M700 trap gun. Over 100,000 troublefree rounds through it, with only periodic maintanence (hammer springs and ejectors) being required over the past 40 years. My mid-80s vintage SKB was purchased used a few years ago, but has been troublefree to date.So I wanted a new clay dedicated gun and to get out of the field guns that I had always been using. The field guns shot fine, but I really just wanted a clays only gun. Being on a budget this left me looking at a used gun or maybe this new SKB. Well, in August of 2018, after a lot of reading and research, I decided on the new SKB 90TSS 32/34 combo.The gun fits absolutely perfectly with the adjustability. I have over 3000 rounds thru it (3161 if anyone's counting). I really like the gun a lot! If I was to do it over again, I might opt for 30" barrels, but the gun swings fine with the 28's. I highly recommend the 90TSS - it is my go-to gun for sporting clays!…
